Am I the only one who fails to understand why channels such as i-Buy, Jewellery Vault and Gems TV exist?

In case you have never encountered one of these channels the premise is an item such as a diamond ring is put up “for auction”. It starts off at a ridiculously inflated price – dubbed the “start price”. Once the auction has begun the price gradually decreases until it reaches the final price which is usually the price you’d pay for it on the high street.

And whats more everyone receives the item at it’s lowest price. Doesn’t that kind of defeat the purpose of an auction? I mean what the high-fuck!

I am eagerly waiting for the first televised suicide on a TV shopping network

It genuinely frightens me that people are reeled in by this shit. I mean do they honestly believe that they are saving 90% on a £6,000 ring?

It seems that these channels are simply trying to cash in on the wealth of technophobes out there who are too stuck in the past to use Ebay.

To top it all off most of these channels charge a ridiculous amount of money for postage and packaging. So even if you acquire an item at a reasonable price, any value in the deal is pissed on by the addition of the postage charge.

The presenters on these shopping channels are usually the most grotesque human beings you could ever hope to meet. The word shill comes to mind. It’s like they are being paid about £2.50 an hour and are having to make their living off commission.

I mean it’s painful to watch the desperation on some of the poor fuckers faces as it suddenly dawns upon them that no-one is buying the products that they are trying to pitch and that suicide is the only honest way out. I would not be surprised if some old woman out there is just buying the shit to keep them all alive. And putting it in the dump straight afterwards.

It does makes great TV in saying that. I just wouldn’t buy anything off them. Ever.
